On Friday, June 19, 13.00 – 17.00, Terrestris, platform for eco-regenerative culture, and tree nursery Het Groene Huis (Boskoop) are organising an intensive roundtable discussion regarding the significance of ecologically regenerative principles and methods for the Green Heart region and locally in Boskoop and the surrounding area.
The aim is to explore how ecological principles and new approaches to regenerative agriculture and horticulture can be combined with viable local economies. To this end, we are bringing together growers, farmers, policymakers, agro-ecologists, and other stakeholders for an in-depth discussion to provide an impetus for the development of new agro-ecological perspectives for the region.
An important objective is the development of new knowledge regarding ecologically regenerative methods and the preservation of (traditional) knowledge. As a result of the trend towards large-scale ecological monocultures in the cultivation sector, traditional knowledge regarding mixed planting, soil cultures, and other aspects is in danger of disappearing rapidly. Yet this knowledge is crucial for developing viable regenerative agro-ecological approaches.
Participation in the roundtable is by invitation only, but those specifically interested can contact the organizers, Fred Booy (Groene Huis) and Eric Kluitenberg (terrestris – eric@terrestris.nl).
