On Saturday May 30 at 15.00 the central exhibition of the Green Heart Biennale will be festively opened, marking the start of the festival. Artists, designers, curators, and other participants in the exhibition will give guided tours that afternoon and discuss their work, its backgrounds, and underlying ideas.
Participating artists, designers, and initiatives include: Christine Hvidt (DK), Dnipro Integrated Vision (UA), Ecosenda & Green Office KABK (NL), Minji Kim (KR), Eva-Maria Lopez (DE), Pierre Oskam (NL), Sensing Peat (DE), Nicole Spit (NL), Urban Reef (NL), Anne Zarske (DE), and curators Eric Kluitenberg and Tania Goryucheva (Terrestris, NL).
Sunday May 31: Subterranean Listening Sessions with Christine Hvidt
On Sunday, May 31, starting at 13.00, listening sessions will take place at Christine Hvidt’s installation Subterranean, led by the artist. Subterranean makes the sounds of the living soil audible in sound sculptures constructed from discarded tree stumps. The artist guides the audience on this sonic exploration of the life beneath our feet.
Guided tours and conversations with the artists and curators
Artists, designers, and curators present will give guided tours and discuss their work.
We wish to offer an opportunity to engage in conversation in an informal atmosphere about the underlying ideas behind our work and what we hope to achieve with these projects

During the weekends a small ferry will be in operation, operated by volunteers from 12.00 till 18.00. The ferry leaves from the stop Nieuwe Veerstal (see map below).
